Pounds was part of STURP — the 1978 Shroud of Turin Research Study — the most famous and revered Shroud scientific study ever conducted.
Jim gives presentations on the Shroud at parishes throughout the Washington D.C. metro area, which includes Maryland and Virginia. During the 2024 Lenten Season, Jim presented at 22 parishes. He also spoke about the wounded heart of Jesus through Eucharistic Miracles and The Divine Mercy image on March 22, 2024, at the prestigious Pope John Paul II Shrine in Washington, D.C.
Jim’s unique Shroud presentations focus on the medical aspects of the wounds and the sufferings inflicted on the “Man of the Shroud.” He also extensively discusses the facts about Roman crucifixion practices during the time of Jesus.
